'Bad Boys' Television Spin-Off Series In The Works

In the age of recycled entertainment, yet another movie is about to get a second chance at life in series form.
First hitting cinemas back in 1995, Michael Bay's Bad Boys franchise is set to get a television spin-off series focusing on Marcus's sister Syndey 'Syd' Burnett. Producer Jerry Bruickheimer, who already worked on the films, is also planning to work on the show.
It was screenwriters Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier (The Blacklist) who first came up with the idea for the Bad Boys series before convincing Gabrielle Union to take part, amidst rumours of a third film in the works.
As a reminder, Union played an undercover DEA agent who fell for Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowrey, played with Will Smith. For the moment, it doesn't look like the original stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be taking part.
It has to be said, however, that small-screen adaptations of movie franchises usually don't go down that well (we're looking at you (LimitlessRush HourTraining DayFrom Dusk till Dawn, etc.).
Nonetheless, armed with an excellent female lead and a solid fan base, this could be the one to convince us.
